Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks:

The Senior Presales Solution Advisor possesses advanced level knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions and participates in sales cycles as a member of the virtual account team. The Senior Presales Solution Advisor interacts with prospective customers through executive meetings, discovery conversations, technical/solution demonstrations, executive presentations, business case development and follow-up discussions.

The Primary role of the Senior Presales Solution Advisor during an active sales cycle is to gain understanding of customer requirements, identify and prove the SAP solutions that can solve the customer’s problem and is the right choice over the other competitive offerings. During these cycles, Solution Advisors often take on the role of a Solution or Deal Captain. In addition to deal support, a Senior Presales Solution Advisor collaborates with Sales, Architects and Value Advisory teams to plan and execute business development strategies through the use of tools and techniques.

Deal Support:

  • Compose and deliver superior sales presentations covering SAP Finance modules and add-on solutions to installed base and prospective Finance customer audiences. The presentations must prove functional capability, articulate the sales message, differentiate SAP, and leave a strong and positive impression to audiences which can include senior company executives.
  • Prepare and deliver value-based software demonstrations/presentations in support of sales cycles. Preparation includes personalization of materials to ensure delivery of a simple, appealing and compelling customer presentation.
  • In advance of a demonstration or key presentation, conduct discovery sessions with representatives from the prospective customer, in order to build relationships with the customer and understand their unique needs.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of SAP solutions and appropriate industries, in order to maintain credibility with prospective customers. Provide proof points with relevant customer stories.
  • Support RFx compliance document to completion in support of customer proposals.
  • Participate/Support/Manage POC completion.
  • Ability to effectively present to customers in-person and remotely using virtual technologies.
  • Provide post-sales support to key partners primarily to the project/implementation team to ensure a smooth integration development.
  • Able to lead as a Solution/Deal Captain when deals require complex solutions and require multiple presales participants to support a successful customer presentation or demo. Mindset here is accountability for end to end Finance and managing colleagues (non-direct reports) with influence.
  • Effectively leverage support teams who are there to support presales success (Global / Regional Solution Specialists, CoE, Architects, Solution Hubs, Deal Advisors, Solution Experience, Product Management).

Demand Generation:

  • Support one-to-many sales and marketing events both on-site and remotely as thought leader, speaker or panellist.
  • Lead & support workshops to promote new and innovative solutions for customers and prospects.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify whitespace opportunities at accounts for account planning and other demand generation activities.

Sales Readiness:

  • Develop close relationships with sales teams, in order to promote effective sales methodologies.
  • Participate in demo system design and planning and assist in configuration if needed.
  • Serve as a champion for Finance solutions or participate in Solution Hubs and provide knowledge transfer to colleagues as needed.
  • Participates and promotes a culture of knowledge sharing and coaching to team members based on areas of specialization.

Experience & Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and above preferably in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
  • Chartered Accountancy qualification is a strong advantage.
  • 10+ years of SAP presales or consulting experience in SAP Finance implementation, end user training and/or end user support.
  • Hands on experience with S/4HANA and FIORI is mandatory, at least 2 project cycles are preferred.
  • L3 business processes expertise on accounting operations, entity and group close.
  • Specialized expertise on costing, controlling, assets, planning & consolidation, cash and treasury management, real estate management, tax, GRC and/or enterprise performance management would be advantageous.
  • Experience of successful engagements leading small teams on medium to large deals.
  • Ability to support partners in partner-led presales sessions, including hands on technical preparation or improving value proposition talking points.
  • Experience in sales and sales processes.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills English: expert.
  • Business level local language: expert.
