Mechanical Designer

About Our Client: Our client is an engineering consultancy specializing in the offshore oil and gas industry.

About the role: This position is offered on a 1-year contract with the possibility of renewal.

• Develop mechanical designs and drawings for offshore projects, including HVAC, piping supports, and rotating equipment.
• Create detailed mechanical system layouts and specifications in line with project requirements.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate mechanical systems into the overall project design.
• Prepare mechanical design packages, including material lists and technical specifications.
• Provide technical support during the construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards.
• Assist in identifying and managing mechanical risks and hazards during the design phase.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery of designs and materials.
• Communicate design progress and resolve any technical challenges with the team.
• Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems offshore.
• Perform site visits to ensure designs are being implemented correctly and to resolve any on-site issues.

About you:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of mechanical design experience in offshore oil and gas.
• Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical codes and offshore safety regulations.
