DESIGNATION : Journalist, Chinese Digital News

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collect and assess information about newsworthy events from a variety of sources, including press releases, social media, other news outlets, tip offs and individual contacts.
  • Write digital news stories with text and visual elements (such as photos, videos and graphics)
  • Film and edit simple short videos for social media and online platforms
  • Utilize social media as a tool for news gathering as well as promoting stories
  • Deliver original stories, including features.
  • Propose, research, and write value-added stories such as explainer pieces and follow-up articles
  • File live reports for breaking news or major events


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in any discipline
  • Creative, analytical and good storyteller, able to source for exclusive stories
  • An outstanding grasp of current issues and news both locally and globally
  • Be aware of trends in digital news and social media.
  • Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable to work with minimal supervision, ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Be prepared to work irregular hours, including Public Holidays and weekends
