As a TEM characterization lead at NAND TD YE Lab, you will be responsible for leading a team to manage all analytical TEM job requests related to the development of 3D NAND part types at the Singapore site and to ensure their seamless transfer to manufacturing. This involves optimizing lab resources to meet NAND TEM support commitments and collaborating closely with process, integration, and yield multi-functional teams in both TD and co-located manufacturing to drive the development of next-generation memory technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team to optimize the output with high quality in line with the Lab’s commitments.
  • Set up goals for team members and evaluate team members’ performance.
  • Drive the team with continuous improvement in efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop each team member and promote the morals of the team.
  • Develop the team's skills through cross-training to ensure effective coverage for sample preparation and TEM analysis.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure the required information is available for processing the job requests.
  • Coordinate TEM activities related to the development of 3D NAND.
  • Work closely with process development teams to solve problems in the new part/module development.
  • Make contributions to optimize the existing Lab procedures to improve rework, cost, cycle time and efficiency.
  • Develop/adopt solutions to improve the efficiency of sample preparation, data acquisition, and data process.
  • Develop/adopt advanced TEM technique for the utilization in 3D NAND development.
  • Coordinate continued training and development for the employees in the group to meet future challenges.
  • Maintain strong and efficient communication allowing a quick response to customer requirements and interact positively with customers.
  • Understand safety guidelines and ensure safety protocol is followed.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD degree in Materials Science, Physics, or related field with at least 3 years’ work experience in a Micron lab environment.
  • Strong to expert level expertise in analytical TEM analysis with hands-on experience in EDS/EELS, electron diffraction and 4D STEM.
  • Good understanding of 3D NAND key modules’ structures and process flow.
  • Experience in code development using Python or other programming languages for FIB/TEM automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years of work experience as a team leader with demonstrated ability to learn new skills and mentor others.
  • Proven track record of strong innovations with proactive approach to exploring new ideas and adapting quickly to change.
  • Ability to simplify sophisticated engineering and personnel problems and provide clear direction.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build strong peer and customer relationships.
