DESIGNATION : Senior Counsellor
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Counsellor (SC) is responsible for facilitating change and improving the lives of individuals, families, community facing transitional challenges through the provision of casework and counselling. SC will act professionally and be accountable to both the client and the organization to ensure that intervention plans are developed and implemented based on professional judgment and knowledge. Furthermore, SC will supervise social workers and counsellors ensure that services are delivered in accordance with organizational standards. SC will also be in responsible for handling high-risk client cases.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise and approve case assessment and outcome plans, and case closure
2. Provide consultations for assessment of cases with risk issues
3. Support or co-lead review of complex and risk cases in the company
4. Supervise subordinates in the follow through of intervention plans, especially for complex and or risk cases
5. Provide supervision of groupwork and community work through modelling, observations and debrief etc
6. Function as a Clinical Lead or Covering Clinical Lead in Mental Health Service
7. Ensure KPIs will be met within the timeline as per funding agencies' requirement
8. Carry out any other duties as assigned by HOD and Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess Master in Counselling from an accredited institution
OTHER INFORMATION
Relevant Experience:
- Accredited as Registered Counsellor with Singapore Association for Counselling would be an advantage
- At least 4 years or more working experience as a Case Worker and/ or Social Worker and or/ Counsellor
- At least 2 years' experience in managing crisis intervention and supervising the junior social workers
Competencies:
- People-oriented, good interpersonal and relation building skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Analytical ability & problem-solving skills to analyse information quickly and accurately, and formulate decisions and make recommendations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with various IT platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective report writing skills
- Team Player
