Job Overview


We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Chief Cook to oversee all kitchen operations and lead the culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a busy kitchen, designing exceptional menus, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality dishes. As a Chief Cook, you will play a vital role in maintaining food quality, improving operational efficiency, and creating a positive work environment for the kitchen team.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership and Team Management:


  • Manage and supervise the kitchen team, including cooks, assistants, and helpers.
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure smooth kitchen operations during shifts.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety, and quality standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and disciplined work environment.

Menu Development and Food Quality:


  • Design, develop, and execute creative menus while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and flavor.
  • Regularly update and optimize the menu based on customer preferences and market trends.
  • Monitor portion sizes, minimize food waste, and ensure cost control.

Kitchen Operations:


  • Oversee the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and coordinate with suppliers for ordering ingredients.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Implement standard operating procedures for kitchen operations and food preparation.

Quality Control and Hygiene:


  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Develop and enforce proper storage and labeling practices for ingredients


Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a Chief Cook or similar senior kitchen leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen management.
  • Ability to create and innovate menus while maintaining food cost efficiency.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Culinary certification or degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong focus on quality, presentation, and attention to detail
