Overall Job Responsibility

The Innovation Development team, part of the Innovation Division in SG Enable, drives and supports innovation projects in collaboration with partners from the private, public, and/or social sector to address challenges faced by persons with disabilities and the disability sector, with a focus on cross-cutting areas of work.

We are seeking a new teammate to join us on this journey to catalyze, conceptualize, and deliver innovation projects to enable persons with disabilities and their caregivers. This is a multi-faceted role involving a wide range of work within a dynamic and purposeful environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Understand, distil, and effectively communicate challenges faced by persons with disabilities and their caregivers as well as gaps in the disability sector.
  • Proactively identify potential partners in both the public and private sector and seek collaboration to address identified challenges and gaps in the community and sector.
  • Identify and develop opportunities to deepen relationships with innovators (e.g. technology companies, startups, innovation labs, Institutes of Higher Learning) and sector stakeholders (e.g. social service agencies, nonprofits) to build a pipeline of opportunities for innovation projects.
  • Influence and cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders to explore avenues for collaborations on innovation pilots and initiatives.

Drive and Support Innovation Projects

  • Conceptualize innovation projects to address challenges faced by persons with disabilities and their caregivers and/or gaps in the disability sector.
  • Plan, execute, and manage projects to meet specific goals and deliverables in accordance with stipulated timelines.
  • Lead efforts to procure goods and services required for projects in accordance with company procurement guidelines.
  • Align project stakeholders towards project objectives by mediating potential points of divergence and identifying win-win measures.
  • Prepare periodic reports to update management, funders, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the design and implementation of marketing and publicity plans for the projects (where necessary).
  • Evaluate outcomes and feasibility of innovation projects and, where necessary, support efforts to scale successful projects.


Manage Innovation Platform

  • Manage platform to seed ground-up innovations by connecting social innovators to challenges faced by persons with disabilities and caregivers.
  • Develop and execute strategy to (i) source and curate problem statements from the community and (ii) encourage innovators to utilize the platform and connect with like-minded individuals to spur ground-up innovations.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
  • Degree in any discipline (or relevant working experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience, ideally with demonstrated experience in project management, programme development, stakeholder engagement, and/or change management
  • Functional knowledge of at least one innovation approach/methodology (e.g. design thinking, systems thinking, behavioural science, futures thinking, or equivalent), demonstrated through previous work experience, involvement in standalone projects, or completion of relevant courses
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, and resourceful in problem solving
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage both internal and external stakeholders, and proficient in facilitating discussions
  • Skilled in communicating ideas and recommendations clearly and convincingly, with good presentation and writing skills
  • Able to contribute as part of a team, while working independently on individual responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Detail orientated, with good organisational skills to keep tasks on time under tight deadlines
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to changing circumstances
  • Courage to propose and test new ideas, and learn from successes and failures
  • Strong passion for creating positive social impact and disability inclusion is a must – prior experience in the disability sector or familiarity with disability issues is an advantage
