PostGres Database Administrator

Responsibilities:

• The candidate is responsible in designing, implementing, documenting, administering and monitoring the databases to ensure the databases run efficiently and securely.
• Work with development team to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on Non-Production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
• Extensive experience is migrating from the current database (DB2, MySQL) system to the PostGres.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor degree, with a technical major, such as engineering, data communications or computer science, among others.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Be certified Database Architect / Developer on the PostGres database.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experiences on the PostGres database solution and 10 years of experience in the database domain
• Extensive Understanding of architecture and design in server and cloud technologies.
• Well-versed in both cloud and on-premise enterprise data warehouse, configuration and administration.
• Hands-on experience in managing cloud services, scripting and automation and administration tools
• Hands-on experience on Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices;
• Been through at least one full software Development Lifecycle using RUP. Have experience in developing and producing Requirements Specification, Use Cases, Design Model and Domain / Data modelling
• Experience on proposed UNIX / LINUX and Windows environment
• Extensive database design experience with knowledge on OLTP and OLAP concepts.
• Extensive experience and knowledge in database performance tuning & maintenance, backup methodologies
• Extensive experience is migrating from the current database (DB2, MySQL) system to the PostGres.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
