Head of Transfer Pricing (Asia)

Job Description:

Our client is a leading global financial services firm with a strong presence across Asia. Known for its innovation, integrity, and international reach, the firm offers a full suite of investment banking, wealth management, and capital markets services. They are now seeking a Head of Transfer Pricing (Asia) to oversee strategy and compliance across the region. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing the firm’s regional transfer pricing strategy, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions while aligning with global tax and business objectives. This role will serve as the key liaison between tax, finance, legal, and business units across the region, and advise senior stakeholders on intercompany pricing, structuring, and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, and governance of transfer pricing policies across Asia, aligned with global standards and local regulations
• Manage transfer pricing documentation, compliance, and reporting for all relevant jurisdictions in Asia
• Provide strategic guidance on cross-border transactions, intercompany service arrangements, and funding structures
• Collaborate with finance and business teams to assess transfer pricing implications of new products, business models, and expansion activities
• Oversee transfer pricing audits and manage relationships with local tax authorities and external advisors
• Conduct transfer pricing risk assessments and maintain robust documentation to support intercompany arrangements
• Monitor and assess regulatory developments in the region, including OECD BEPS initiatives and local transfer pricing legislation
• Support global tax planning and restructuring initiatives involving the Asia region
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of transfer pricing specialists across key Asian markets

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CA, CTA) preferred
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in transfer pricing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the financial services industry or Big 4
• Deep understanding of regional and global transfer pricing rules, OECD guidelines, and BEPS framework
• Proven experience managing complex transfer pricing issues and audits in Asia
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed and multinational organization
Regional exposure to key markets including China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, and India
