About Us:
We are a rapidly growing internet-based brokerage firm with operations across the United States, Singapore, China, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. As we continue to expand globally, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Tax Expert to join our team. This role will be pivotal in overseeing global tax compliance, planning, and optimization while managing the complexities of cross-border taxation across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Global Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate compliance with tax regulations across all jurisdictions, including the US, Singapore, China, New Zealand, and Hong Kong.
- Tax Planning & Optimization: Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to minimize corporate tax exposure, including identifying incentives, managing tax risks, and improving group tax structures.
- Cross-border Taxation: Handle matters such as transfer pricing, withholding tax, and the application of international tax treaties. Provide guidance on structuring intercompany transactions efficiently.
- Statutory Reporting & Filing: Oversee the preparation and submission of tax filings and statutory reports. Support external tax audits and internal controls relating to taxation.
- Tax Risk Management: Identify and assess tax-related risks, propose mitigation strategies, and maintain documentation to support tax positions and compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Finance and Legal teams across regions to support business initiatives from a tax perspective.
- Regulatory Awareness: Stay abreast of global tax developments (especially IRAS guidelines in Singapore), regulatory changes, and their potential impact on the business. Provide timely updates and implement necessary changes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field. A professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- 7–10 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in international or regional roles with exposure to multiple tax regimes.
- Solid understanding of global tax regulations, including corporate tax, VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and withholding tax.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex tax scenarios across jurisdictions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multicultural environment.
- Experience with financial or tax software (e.g., SAP, SUN, or other ERP systems) is advantageous.
- Prior experience in fintech, financial services, or brokerage firms is a strong plus.
