Safety Officer

Responsibilities:

• Understand and effectively implement the organization’s SHMS at site.
• Provide reasonably practicable and effective EHS recommendations to team members to ensure compliance to legal and other requirements
• Ensure all ordinances or orders bearing on occupational safety, health and environmental are in compliance with the regulations.
• Attend client / main contractor safety meeting/ weekly coordination & technical meeting
• Review and advisory on the formulation of risk impact assessments
• Report and liaise with the Management, main contractor on incident occurrence.
• Handle work injury cases including preparing of accident reports, investigations and other necessary actions
• Conduct safety awareness campaigns, trainings and activities
• Conduct sites safety and health meeting / toolbox meeting
• Keep proper site occupational health & safety records
• Prepare safety reports as required by management and clients
• Conduct in ISO implementation and Environmental, Health and Safety audit
• Updating management on new and current occupational health & safety matters
• Responsible to identify any unsafe workplace conditions
• Recommend measure and remedy and implement measure
Ensure/ enforce adequate personal protective equipment for the effective implementation of the occupational health & safety for workers

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Environmental / Health / Safety) or equivalent
• min 5 Years practicing as a WSH Coordinator
• Strong knowledge in Workplace Health and Safety Act
• MOM Registered WSHO
• Responsible and with good attitude personnel
