Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement workplace health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with company policies and Singapore regulations (WHS Act, MOM guidelines).
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on construction sites and process plants to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and follow up on preventive measures.
- Organize and conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for workers and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and management to promote a culture of safety and ensure safe work practices.
- Monitor use and condition of personal protective equipment (PPE), safety signs, and safety equipment.
- Assist in developing and updating safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of safety compliance, incidents, and audits.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits as required.
- Support risk assessments and method statements for high-risk activities like confined space entry, hot work, and lifting operations.
- Assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment at project sites.
- Support senior engineers in preparing electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Supervise and coordinate with technicians on basic electrical works.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and local regulations.
- Participate in inspections and assist with commissioning of electrical systems.
- Assist in documenting site progress and preparing daily/weekly work reports.
- Coordinate material requirements and maintain basic records of equipment used.
- Follow all workplace safety and health (WSH) guidelines, and report unsafe practices immediately.
Requirements:
- Education: Diploma or NITEC in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical or safety coordination in construction/process maintenance.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and safety compliance. Familiarity with Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations. Ability to identify hazards and conduct risk assessments.
- Certifications (Required): 1) Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites (AWSHCS) – mandatory for working on construction sites 2) Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator (WSHC) course – recognized by MOM for Safety Coordinator roles
- Bonus Certifications (Preferred): Work-At-Height course Basic First Aid / CPR Confined Space Safety training
- Other Skills: Strong communication and teamwork Ability to manage site documentation and reporting Familiar with Microsoft Office and safety management tools
