Job Description
- Able to work within a team and resolve issues associate with site inspection.
- Provide weekly reports on site activities, including identified issues, proposed action plans, and solutions implemented to resolve them.
- Attend meetings at the client’s office or work site, as necessary, to address site-related issues and other project matters.
- Review and familiarize with project drawings and contract specifications. Highlight deviations during joint testing, commissioning, and inspections to ensure smooth handover, operational occupancy, resolution of post-construction defects and user feedback.
- To take and carry out instructions from and represent the M&E Consultant.
- To carry out other related duties assigned to you by the project manager, consultants or its representative from time to time.
- To ensure proper implementation of instructions and plans emanating from Qualified Person(s).
- To report to the Qualified Person(s) and to assist the Qualified Person(s) in carrying out regular supervision of Mechanical & Electrical installation works in respect of projects/s under your charge.
- To supervise works to comply with statutory requirements and specifications.
- To supervise the timely execution of the works and maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract specifications, drawings, allocated timeframe, all other contract documents and site instructions, including approved plans.
- To assist the Qualified Person(s) to supervise the contractors and co-ordinate with consultants to ensure work on site is done to achieve the objectives of quality and timeliness.
- To take prompt action to ensure contractor rectify poor quality materials or items that are in use which may lead to poor reception or cause unnecessary defects to the surrounding Structural, Architectural and Mechanical & Electrical installations.
- To review project drawings and specifications, and raise any discrepancies and/or potential problems to the appointed Qualified Person and project consultants/clients
- To submit site reports on projects performance and progress on a weekly basis.
- To compile relevant equipment, material, inspection and test certificated submitted by the contractors as required for the project records.
- To meet with project manager and consultants during site visit as and when required.
- To attend site, progress, variation and coordination meetings and to keep proper minutes of these meetings.
- To supervise contractors and co-ordinate with consultants to ensure work on site is done to achieve the objectives of quality and timeliness. Any direction or instruction from consultants must be adhered to.
- To highlight discrepancies, feedback site progress and irregularities to Consultants
- To ensure proper site documentation and issue site memo when required.
- To ensure that proper and updated records of all works, including records of variation works, tests, inspections, work progress, materials and equipment/machinery on site, labour safety, provisional quantities, dayworks, etc, are kept.
- To help resolve contractor’s queries and coordinate the works with other contractors.
- To witness all inspections, testing and commissioning sessions performed by Sub-contractors to ensure compliance with quality standards, designs and specifications. To maintain records of tests carried out.
- To check as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manual.
- To inspect and assist with handing / taking over of completed works.
- To prepare defect lists, monitor progress of rectification works and ensure all defects are satisfactorily rectified.
- To maintain proper and updated daily records of all works done, including records of tests, inspections, status of work, safety, site diary, material and equipment on site, labour, dayworks, provisional quantities, etc.
- To verify reports and claims submitted by Contractors and ensure proper documentation of project correspondences on site.
- To verify that all constructed works are in accordance with approved authorities drawings prior to any authorities inspection.
- To assist Consultants to organise formal inspections.
Requirements
- Possess at least a recognised Diploma/Nitec in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering/ Building
- Preferably Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES
- Site supervision experience in A&A works for institution building, inclusive new lift installation.
- The RTO-M&E shall have minimum eight (8) years of experience as an RTO, of which at least eight (8) years shall be in supervision of works similar
- Must be willing to perform night works.
Salary Range
- $5,000 to $6,500 per month (negotiable)
