Job Objectives

  • The Transport Manager and Business Partner is responsible for all transport related activities (Inbound, Airbus Internal Transports and Outbound) in Region APAC incl. China. This contains 3PL, 4PL and Integrator Management and development (Performance, Quality, Costs, Sustainability), Process Design and Implementation, leading regional and contributing Transport related Projects, manage transport related escalations, contributing to positive global customer experience, and overseeing daily operations if necessary.
  • Furthermore the role is a business partner for Satair`s internal customers incl. performance, quality and cost management as well as transport consultancy.

Job Responsibilities

Lead regional and contribute to global Transport related Projects and take over Workpackages for the new Satair global Transportation Operating Model (TMS, 3PL, 4PL), hence contributing to the global Satair Logistics transformation program

  • Lead the change from local to a global transport operating mode in APAC Region incl. China.
  • Work closely with our teams in Europe and USA
  • Understand the complex Satair supply chain from Forecast to Inventory and from Order to Invoice, and orchestrate the necessary stakeholders to fulfill the top company objectives and Key Performance Indicators within the given scope of Transport
  • Ensure consistent contractual framework in the region and ensure full compliance with legal and government requirements in cooperation with Procurement
  • Contribute to the design and deployment of our new global Transport Operating Model, considering regional and local demand of the Supply Chain
  • Support an End to End process review on all Transport, Customs and Export Control processes

Manage APAC and global 3PL service providers (7 3PL suppliers) on a tactical and strategical level to ensure performance (On time delivery, Cost, Quality, Sustainability), drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the procurement of Transportation services

  • Lead monthly business reviews with our 3PL, run improvement initiatives involving all stakeholders
  • Manage regional transport spent and contribute to global Transport Cost Controlling for FC1, 2, 3 and AOP
  • Contribute to global call for tender activities and be in charge for APAC demand, ensure Purchase Order placement and supplier payments

Act as a Transport Business Partner for our operations and commercial teams to continuously improve transport concepts to meet Customer’s expectations

  • Monitor replenishment and Inbound flows into Region incl. the warehouses in Singapore, Beijing and Dubai
  • Monitor Satair Outbound flows to our customer in the Region APAC
  • Manage Performance and lead counter measures in case of performance drop
  • Forecast and anticipate Operational developments that will affect transportation flows, volumes and costs.
  • Lead dedicated cost optimization initiatives at regional level
  • Lead Transport Network Design for Inbound and Outbound flows for new China warehouse location and manage deployment

Manage the Control Tower (4PL) set up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

  • Manage the performance of the operational Control Tower set up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a positive customer experience
  • Define and execute counter measures with the Control Tower Management in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to increase performance and customer satisfaction
  • Report regular Control Tower performance to Global 4PL Manager and Satair Logistics Management
  • Visit the Control Tower regularly and train the mindset of the Team to understand Satair priorities.

Other Responsibilities

  • Be the Transport Focal Point in all regional Satair Operations Management Meetings
  • Manage Interface to regional warehouses Inbound and outbound teams
  • Other duties reasonably determined from time to time by the Company
  • Be a focal point for customs related topics for the Region APAC
  • Representation of ASOMST in Global Meetings in case Head of is not available
  • Represent Transport in regional Operations Management meetings

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years experience in similar position and/or within Freight Forwarding Industry
  • Bachelor or Master in Logistics / Supply Chain or similar
  • Deep understanding of Global Transportation business
  • Preferred previous experience in a Freight Forwarding company or in adequate function in a logistics unit as part of the Supply Chain in an industry / producing company
  • Transport Management System (AEB) and SAP experience
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Effective collaboration with the Senior Management
  • Ability to execute and drive change management
  • Certified Project Management skills or process improvement tools (e.g. Six Sigma)
