Bar Manager

A bar manager is responsible for many tasks, including:

• Inventory control : Ordering and maintaining inventory, while avoiding over- or under-stocking
• Health and safety : Ensuring the bar complies with health and safety regulations
• Staff management : Training, scheduling, and supervising bar staff
• Customer service : Addressing customer concerns, and ensuring staff are courteous to customers
• Budget development : Setting a budget for the bar, and assessing the impact of hiring, stock, and marketing decisions on the budget
• Event management : Coordinating events, and ensuring staff are prepared
• Clientele relationship building : Building relationships with regulars, who can provide revenue and refer new business
• Beverage programs : Maintaining and updating beverage programs, and ensuring their quality and profitability
• Company policies : Observing and enforcing company policies, house rules, and guiding principles
• Personal appearance : Maintaining a neat, well-groomed personal appearance, and observing the company dress code
