The Depot Technician plays a key role in managing and maintaining IT hardware, ensuring efficient operations across various specialized areas, including Asset Management, Hardware Asset Management, Loaner Laptop Management, Remote Asset Depot (RAD), Hardware Repair, Receiving, RTI, Fulfillment, Transport, and GSX. This role supports day-to-day tasks, device repairs, inventory management, and asset deployment while ensuring adherence to company standards and timelines.



Key Responsibilities:


Asset Management: Oversee asset tracking, inventory updates, and lifecycle management for IT equipment.

Hardware Asset Management: Manage hardware deployment, returns, and maintenance.

Loaner Laptop Management: Coordinate loaner laptop inventory, distribution, and timely returns.

Remote Asset Depot (RAD): Manage remote assets, ensuring accuracy in allocation and retrieval.

Hardware Repair: Diagnose and repair hardware issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

Receiving: Handle incoming IT shipments, verify equipment, and update inventory records.

RTI (Return to Inventory): Process returned devices, ensure they are refurbished or retired properly.

Fulfillment: Prepare and deploy IT hardware requests across departments.

Transport: Coordinate IT equipment transportation between facilities securely and efficiently.

GSX (Global Service Exchange): Manage global IT service exchange requests and resolutions.

Collaborate with team leads and stakeholders for smooth task execution.

Document processes, maintain accurate inventory records, and report discrepancies.

Follow safety and compliance standards in handling and transporting IT equipment.


Essential Skills:


Strong understanding of IT hardware and asset management practices.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware issues effectively.

Proficiency with IT asset management tools and systems.

Excellent organizational and inventory management skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to handle and transport IT equipment safely.


Required Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in IT asset management, hardware repair, or depot operations.

Proficiency in inventory management systems and tools.

Experience working with hardware repair processes and device lifecycle management.

Ability to lift and transport IT equipment safely.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or similar hardware-focused credentials.

Experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms.

Previous experience supporting corporate IT environments.
