Laundry Operator - Presser

Job Summary:

The Laundry Operator – Presser is responsible for finishing garments, uniforms, and linens using pressing equipment such as steam irons, flatwork ironers, or steam presses. This role ensures that all laundered items are neatly pressed, wrinkle-free, and presented to high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate pressing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect laundered items before pressing for cleanliness and any damage.
• Press garments, linens, and other fabric items according to fabric type and finishing requirements.
• Sort and fold pressed items neatly and prepare them for delivery or storage.
• Ensure consistent finishing standards in line with company quality expectations.
• Assist with other laundry duties as needed, including folding, packing, or sorting.
• Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a commercial laundry or pressing environment preferred.
• Ability to handle hot equipment and work in warm conditions.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and handle repetitive tasks.
• Willing to work on weekends and public holidays.
• Able to alternate between 5-day and 6-day work weeks.
• Working hours: 9:00 AM to 5:45 PM (includes a 45-minute lunch break).
