Business Development Director

Avec Chem Asia Pacific is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Director to lead our regional expansion and strategic growth efforts, particularly in China. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building a robust distribution network, managing supplier relationships, and establishing a high-performing business development team.

This is a high-impact role that involves frequent overseas travel , especially to China, and requires strong cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the business development strategy for Asia Pacific, with a primary focus on China.
• Build and manage a network of distributors and partners in target markets.
• Identify and secure new sourcing opportunities to strengthen supply capabilities.
• Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities.
• Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Recruit, train, and manage a regional business development team over time.
• Collaborate closely with the senior management team on long-term strategy and operational planning.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in business development or strategic sales.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
• Strong understanding of distribution networks, international sourcing, and market entry strategies.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin ; proficiency in other languages (e.g., Bahasa, Japanese, Korean) will be a plus.
• Willingness to travel frequently, especially to China and other Asia Pacific markets.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Business, International Relations, or a related field.
