Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Production Lead is responsible for the comprehensive management and execution of a large-scale staged production.

As the Production Lead, you will collaborate closely with the artistic team to craft an impactful narrative adapted from SCS White Paper integrates data trends, case studies, and qualitative insights into the lived experiences of patients while overseeing all production phases—from concept development and artistic direction to execution and final performance. Ensures seamless and engaging experience for both the audience and the cast.

You will serve as the primary liaison among diverse stakeholders, including artistic collaborators, technical crews, sponsors, and Singapore Cancer Society to achieve the production's goals with excellent project management skills, proficiency in theatre systems, and understanding of the psychosocial needs of the cancer community.


Key Responsibilities:

You will play the dynamic role of end-to-end planning to execution of production from Producer, Production Manager, Stage Manager and Assistant Creative Director.

1. Producer:

  • Oversee the entire production process from conception to performance.
  • Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively.
  • Coordinate with creative and teams to align vision and execution.
  • Manage contracts and negotiations with artists, venue, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations.


2. Production Manager:

  • Coordinate logistical aspects of the production, including scheduling, budgeting, and staffing.
  • Supervise operations, including set design, lighting, sound, and costume.
  • Develop a detailed production timeline and ensure all milestones are met.
  • Liaise with the stage manager and technical crew to facilitate seamless rehearsals and performances.
  • Conduct regular meetings with team members to track progress and address any issues.
  • Oversee venue operations and manage load-in/load-out schedules.


3. Stage Manager:

  • Serve as the communication hub during rehearsals and performances.
  • Create and maintain prompt scripts, calling cues for lighting, sound, and set changes.
  • Organize and conduct rehearsals, ensuring all performers are prepared and aware of their cues.
  • Manage the backstage area during performances, coordinating with crew and cast.
  • Handle any issues that arise during rehearsals or performances, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Maintain a safe and organized backstage environment.


4. Assistant Creative Director:

  • Assist the Creative Director in conceptualizing the overall artistic vision of the production.
  • Collaborate with choreographers, designers, and the production team to develop artistic elements.
  • Help coordinate rehearsals, providing feedback to dancers and technical teams.
  • Research and source materials and resources needed for costumes and set designs.
  • Assist in promotional activities, including social media and marketing materials.
  • Support the Creative Director in maintaining the integrity of the artistic vision throughout the production process.


Job Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Theatre Production, Performing Arts, Arts Management, or a related field.
  • Additional training or certifications in project management, stage management, or theatre is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of proven experience in leading and managing full-scale theatre or live performance productions.
  • Demonstrated experience in fulfilling multiple production roles, including Producer, Production Manager, Stage Manager, and Assistant Creative Director.
  • Prior involvement in socially impactful or healthcare-themed productions is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with community-based storytelling or patient-centered narratives is an added advantage.
