Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary IP Director with a strong background in the game industry and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams in strategic IP development and global collaboration. As the key leader driving the company's IP strategy, you will be fully responsible for identifying global IP opportunities, leading IP research and design initiatives, and expanding high-value client relationships. This role requires a unique blend of creative insight, business acumen, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue global intellectual property (IP) opportunities that align with mobile game market trends and company direction.
  • Direct the delivery of IP art design, IP research, and cross-IP collaboration services to game clients and partners.
  • Proactively expand the client base through strategic outreach, relationship management, and long-term partnership development.
  • Serve as a key decision-maker and negotiator for external IP projects and partnership agreements.
  • Lead end-to-end IP collaborations, including licensing, co-development, and strategic investment with entertainment companies, game publishers, anime studios, and other IP holders.
  • Build and manage a comprehensive IP pipeline to support internal development and external service offerings.
  • Stay updated on IP trends, consumer interests, and competitor movements in key markets (e,g., gaming, entertainment etc.)
  • Provide strategic input to product and creative teams on how to maximise the value of acquired IPs across games, merchandise, events and media.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Finance, Business Development, Game Design, Law or related fields.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IP research, investment and strategic business development, preferably within the game or interactive entertainment industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in identifying strategic IP opportunities, conducting thorough due diligence, leading negotiations, and securing high-value IP deals.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a business or division, including strategic planning, and team management.
  • Deep understanding of game publishing cycles, content integration, and transmedia storytelling.
  • Strong global network in the gaming, anime, and entertainment industries—especially in key markets such as China, Japan, South Korea, North America, and Europe.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills; able to represent the company to C-level partners and stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, Korean) are a plus.
