What You'll Do
- Lead engaging swimming lessons based on our Club’s teaching syllabus.
- Periodically update and improve the Learn-to-Swim (LTS) syllabus to keep it fresh, fun, and effective.
- Ensure swimmers in your care are safe, supported, and progressing at their own pace.
- Conduct termly LTS assessments and provide feedback to help swimmers reach their potential.
- Instill values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and friendship in every lesson.
- Assist in planning and executing swimming meets and activities.
- Be the go-to person for parents and members, offering support and answering their queries.
- Help plan and assist with swimming events and camps.
- Other duties as assigned to support our swimming community
- At least 1 year of experience teaching Learn-to-Swim (LTS). Trainee coaches are also welcome to apply!
- National Registry of Coaches (NROC) Level 1, AustSwim (Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety), or an equivalent certification.
- A valid First Aid and CPR-AED certification.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with children.
- Positive work attitude with the ability to collaborate well as a team player.
- Passion for swimming and a commitment to imparting life skills to children.
- Flexibility and willingness to work training shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Ability to start immediately is a plus.
