Buyer (MNC - Electronic/Semiconductor)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to manage the procurement of materials, components, and services required for semiconductor/electronic manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in sourcing, vendor management, and supply chain coordination within a high-mix, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure raw materials, electronic components (e.g., PCBs, ICs, capacitors), MRO items, and indirect materials.
• Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers for best pricing, quality, lead time, and terms.
• Manage purchase orders (POs), delivery schedules, and supplier communications.
• Maintain accurate material master data and ensure timely system updates (e.g., SAP or ERP).
• Work closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to meet material requirements.
• Resolve supply discrepancies, shortages, and quality-related issues with vendors.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels to meet production needs while minimizing excess.
• Track and report on key procurement KPIs (cost savings, OTIF, vendor performance).
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and product transfer activities.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and quality standards.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant procurement experience in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing.
• Familiarity with electronic components and BOM structures.
• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of supplier qualification and audit processes is a plus.
