OVERVIEW

This position will take lead account management and provide support for major Japanese accounts and to promote the growth of the logistics business in NX. This is to establish NX's position in the South Asia and Oceania (SAO) markets, of which Japanese customers accounts for the majority of NX's income.

Take charge of 27 major accounts and another 101 corporate accounts assigned by SAO that includes FMCG accounts, apart from the 5 major growth verticals.

Understand the annual industry-specific sales targets set by the Head Office and SAO and to take accountability to achieve the targets in SAO. Set and plan the necessary activities and drive them to completion.

Formulate and implement marketing activities and sales strategies for each industry account in SAO. Collect and analyse market trends and drive results.

Expand NX’s business by supervising, supporting, and leading regional activities through cooperation and communication with other country teams. Carry out sales activities to customers at locations outside of Singapore.


JOB PURPOSE

  • Acts as the primary contact for multi-Geo and/or multi-product customers.
  • Maintain day-to-day interaction with customers to ensure operational execution of customer requirements to resolve customer issues, identify ways to improve service and add value to the relationship.
  • Carry out successful basic customer onboarding and implement the engagement processes with respective stakeholders.
  • Champion and represent the customer’s business requirements in the organization.
  • Improve the service to the customer and profitability to the organization.
  • Ensure that NX’s performance to the customer is within agreed performance and costs levels.
  • Act as liaison between the customer and the various NX SAO division


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales and account management for existing customers

  • Lead sales activities in SAO in accordance with global or regional guidelines and manage the activities of sales teams in each country.
  • Investigate and explain the organizational roles and functions of NX in each country within the SAO by account. Formulate sales activities and strategies with action plans from a global perspective and cooperate with relevant divisions outside of SAO. This must include investigation and identification of customers’ decision maker in each business segment such as FWDG and DC operations.
  • Discover, through investigation and analysis, the potential of each new businesses for accounts worked on. To develop, list, create sales plans and execute them for each target account.
  • For sales in each country, propose appropriate strategies and solutions to each customer. Monitor and track the actions of the pipeline that will be maintained in each country.
  • Focus on selling to the regional control department and Japanese customers in sales activities.
  • Manage accounts at global (regional) companies, provide customer support, and coordinate for global requests.
  • Handle existing customer inquiries, RFQs, address quality issues, and analyze and report on improvements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and take lead in addressing quality issues with the countries.
  • Conduct marketing activities and improvement plans for each country, for both internal and external requests.
  • Establish, develop and maintain good relationships with customers through all sales activities.

Approach to new customers and market research

  • The job involves more than just existing accounts; it also requires researching and developing relationships with new target companies.
  • Marketing in each country within the region is done through sales activities. To collect information from various sources, internally and externally, to analyze distribution potential and trends in each country, including desktop research.
  • Coordinate and support with regional operating companies and internal divisions outside of SAO to build sales processes that are customized for each customer's organizational structure.
  • Regularly lead and join sales meetings in each country, create strategies and tactics for sales, oversee progress, and summarize and report the situation.
  • Lead sales processes, including lateral development of success stories. Lead countries by preparing and updating sales materials.
  • Manage and finalize contract documents with new business partners.

Other activities marketing, product planning, etc.

  • Reporting own sales activities to the CRM system, and motivate countries to regularly update the CRM system additionally.
  • Create sales activity and revenue reports for sales management independently of CRM input, such as during visits by upper management to customers.
  • Work closely with the business divisions of air, ocean, truck, and warehouse to grasp market conditions and trends, and share this information internally and externally.
  • Assist marketing through hosting events, attending meetings, promoting sales for brand recognition, and supporting campaigns. Contribute to sales promotion by actively participating in webinars, exhibitions, etc.
  • Plan and develop schemes that offer new products and new value


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in freight forwarding / multimodal sales or account management.
  • Experience in regional or global sales and promotion.
  • Experience in dealing with global accounts and the ability to build relationships with key opinion leaders and procurement and quality personnel in the region.
  • Strong negotiation and sales skills with ability to provide education and training in sales and cargo handling.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese language with Japanese account clients and Japan Headquarters
