This position will lead all aspects of Arabica coffee sourcing across Asian coffee origins from identifying origin opportunities, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships and ensuring quality, sustainability and cost‑efficiency targets are met. This role requires to optimize the supply chain, driving profitability, and ensuring strategic sourcing from origin to client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers (exporters, cooperatives, etc.) in key Asian coffee origins (Vietnam, Indonesia, Laos, China, etc.) by making best use of our origin network and conduct regular origin visits with cuppings and farm audits to ensure quality and traceability.
  • Develop customer relations. Understand clients’ needs and answer to these needs in a commercial manner, sustain the relationships with the key customers through commercial actions (provide market advice, visit clients, etc.).
  • Advocate coffee offerings, responsible‑sourcing initiatives and certifications in all client interactions.
  • Proficient in price negotiation and contract execution.
  • Risk Management: Oversee financial exposure, market volatility, and trade compliance.
  • Coordinate with logistics, quality control, and sustainability teams to ensure product integrity and traceability.
  • Implement agreed strategy and negotiate corresponding terms & conditions.
  • Oversee trades from contract to fulfilment and securing financing structures and overseeing risk exposure, open receivables, and quality execution.
  • Market Intelligence & Analysis: Gather, analyze and disseminate local market data on supply, demand, pricing, competition and trends and actively contribute to balance‑sheet debates and customer‑segment analyses.
  • Any other tasks as per assigned by your superiors.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Agriculture, International Trade, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in green coffee trading, preferably in Asia Arabica markets.
  • Understanding of coffee grading, cupping, quality control, and certifications.
  • Familiarity with logistics, Incoterms, and documentation in the coffee supply chain.
  • Track record in identifying trading opportunities and managing risk.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel and/or BI tools.
  • Strong cross-cultural awareness and ability to work in a diverse, international team with entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and proficiency in an Asian language (e.g., Vietnamese, Bahasa, Mandarin, Korean) is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel across Asia and to origin/exporting countries as needed.
