About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Support Engineer to assist in deployment processes, version control, and environment analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong scripting abilities, database knowledge, and a foundation in supporting deployment activities. This role involves collaboration with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth and reliable environment management.
Candidate should be open for contractual role (1 year renewable contract). You will be deputed to the client, a leading retail bank in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Deployment Processes:
Assist in deploying applications and updates to various environments.
Ensure deployment procedures are followed and troubleshoot deployment issues as they arise.
Version Control Management:
- Manage and maintain version control repositories (e.g., Git).
- Assist teams in branching, merging, and managing code versions.
- Environment Analysis & Optimization:
- Analyze environment configurations and performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations for environment improvements.
Scripting & Automation:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline deployment and environment management tasks.
- Write scripts for environment setup, cleanup, and testing.
Database Support:
- Assist in database configuration, management, and automation.
- Support data migration, backups, and restores related to environment setups.
Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide ongoing support for environment-related issues.
- Collaborate with teams to resolve deployment and environment conflicts.
Foundation Skills:
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environment management best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Mandatory:
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python).
- Basic knowledge of databases (SQL, NoSQL).
- Familiarity with deployment processes and tools.
- Strong foundation in version control systems
- Ability to support deployment activities and troubleshoot environment issues.
- Good Analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Tools & Technologies:
Version Control: Git, SVN
Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell
Databases: SQL Server, MySQL, NoSQL databases
Deployment Tools: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
Environment Management: Docker, Kubernetes (optional)
