This part-time position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and coordination of the Children's Ministry program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and spiritually enriching experience for children and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Development and Implementation:
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate children's ministry programs, including Sunday school classes, and special events.
  • Develop and/or utilize age-appropriate curricula and lesson plans.
  • Create engaging activities that promote learning and spiritual growth for children.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Ensure a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Encourage participation and interaction from all students.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of special events, such as June’s Children Camp and December’s Children Christmas Celebration.
  • Ensure that all events are safe, engaging, and aligned with the ministry's vision.
  • Volunteer Leadership and Support:
  • Oversee, recruit and equip Sunday School teachers and volunteers for Children's Ministry activities.
  • Provide ongoing support and encouragement to volunteers.
  • Communication and Outreach:
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, providing updates on ministry activities and events.
  • Respond to parent inquiries and concerns in a timely and helpful manner.
  • Assist in outreach efforts to new families and individuals.
  • Other Duties:
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment within the Children's Ministry space.
  • Assist with record-keeping and inventory management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Qualifications:

  • A strong, personal faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve God through ministry.
  • A love for children and a passion for their spiritual development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in teaching or working with children is preferred.
  • Basic theological training is helpful but not essential.
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to follow church policies and procedures.
  • Work hours will be determined by the specific needs of the Children's Ministry program, and will include evenings and weekends.
