Chief of Staff
The Chief of Staff joins at a critical time in the company's expansion. It is essential that the Chief of Staff serves as a trusted advisor and confidant to the Chief Executive Officer. The role will work closely with the CEO to get twice as much done as the CEO would be able to do alone. You will provide key assistance and support in board meetings, as well as taking charge of key strategic projects, to allow the CEO to focus his efforts on shaping the overall direction of the business.
The ideal candidate will have the acumen and finesse to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long term projects with the urgency of immediate demands. He or she must possess exceptional judgment and communication skills and must exhibit the skills to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others. The ability to build strong and sustainable relationships and the capability to interact at all levels within the organization and externally is critical.

Essential responsibilities:
- Work side-by-side with the CEO and leadership team to multiply effectiveness and efforts across the whole organization
- Be the sparring partner of the CEO and support thought leadership/ business planning
- Serve as a trusted partner to the respective management and functional teams
- Drive problem solving on critical opportunities and challenges to unlock growth
- Help coordinate business-wide procedures and drive operational improvements
- Lead the implementation of multi-functional strategic projects where required
- Disseminate information and communicate ideas on behalf of the CEO
- Ensure internal deadlines for key company deliverables to the CEO/ board are being met
- Attend executive meetings/ key project meetings and deliver progress reports to the CEO
- Build strong relationships with teams across the businesses - note successes/ key issues and bring to the attention of the CEO where relevant
- Help build a more effective, efficient and collaborative organization
- Be a quality control ambassador on projects to ensure standards initially set are being met
- Strong academic background, such as a degree in Business, Economics. MBA high desirable
- 5+ years of strategy consulting experience followed by in house hands on strategy / corp dev experience
- Strong business acumen and commercial understanding, demonstrated in current and/or previous roles
- Experience in wide-ranging / cross-functional areas, and an eagerness to learn new skills
- Strategic thinker, data-driven and analytical in approach to solving problems
- Excels at building relationships and networks; influences others to achieve outcomes. Ability to bring teams together and relate to individuals with different working styles
- Comfortable holding team members accountable to project deadlines and identifying areas in need of support
- Proven track record interacting with external parties, representing the business and confident in interacting at all levels including C-level and Board level.

- Comfortable behind the stage, supporting the person in the spotlight; thrives on helping others be their best selves and anticipating their needs before they are spoken

- High degree of flexibility – fairly frequent travel is involved
- Passion for Fintech and emerging markets ideally with working experience in this industry and experience working across emerging markets
- Interest in building an entrepreneurial skillset and learning about high-growth scale ups
