JOB SUMMARY: The mechanical supervisor helps support Weaves's current and future projects as part of the operation team. Will be expected to have positive team coordination and leadership to motivate and support both operations and commerical of Weaves. The position will require flexibility to be able to be adjusted to different work sites and be able to manage impromptu changes within management decision of work undertaking. Essential responsibility to ensure the compliance of safety and quality as company's paramount core values for daily work operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following activities.


Job Description & Requirements

  • Experience in operational control which includes workforce management and client coordination
  • Technical knowledge and understanding on mechanical works, valves and piping systems
  • Ability to understand P&ID, testpack boundary, drawings and able to do site routing sketches at 95% accuracy
  • Ablility to supervise fabrication and installation of pipelines according to drawings and client's specification
  • Manage multi coordination with quality department, material store, painting and other relevant trades for optimising work flow.
  • Knowledge on productivity for piping fabrication, welding and installation works.
  • Supervise fabrication and installation according to clients specification and drawing requirement.
  • Good Knowledge on welding quality and understanding ASME standards
  • Good Knowledge and execution for first in first out (FIFO) sequence
  • Coordination and updating of Redline Mark up and documentation maintenance of documentations
  • Coordination with commerical team to ensure the claim of redline and modification works are captured
  • Responsible for workforce safety management system and worksite discipline
  • Responsible for tools arrangement and maintenance regime
  • Responsible to train and guide workforce on skills improvement and being able to increase the skill value of the workforce.

Requirement:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in marine/shipyard operations involving site piping & mechanical fabrication and supervision works
  • Energised with positive work attitude and self-driven/motivated
  • Flexible and good adaptation to change environment
  • Rigger and Signalman certification or Lifting Supervisor certified will be preferred
  • Good planning, organization, control, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (ie. Microsoft Excel)
  • Shipyard Safety Supervisor Course Certification
