DESIGNATION : Executive Producer, Current Affairs (8-month contract)
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a seasoned and dynamic Executive Producer to lead a MediaCorp flagship investigative current affairs programme. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a flair for impactful storytelling, a sharp news sense, and a deep understanding of issues shaping Singapore and the world.
As Executive Producer, you will spearhead the editorial vision and production of the programme. You will manage a team of producers, oversee the full production cycle, drive content ideation, ensure editorial integrity, and uphold high production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Editorial Leadership:

- Lead the conceptualisation and planning of weekly episode topics with a strong investigative and current affairs angle.
- Ensure topics are timely, relevant, and resonate with Singaporean audiences.
- Maintain a strong news pulse on domestic and international developments.
- Team Management:

- Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of producers, reporters, and support staff.
- Provide editorial guidance throughout the production process.
- Script and Content Review:

- Vet and approve scripts to ensure accuracy, coherence, and storytelling impact.
- Uphold high journalistic and ethical standards in all content.
- Production Oversight:

- Oversee the production timeline, post-production, and final delivery of each episode.
- Budgeting and Resource Planning:

- Manage the show's budget effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost efficiency.
- Forecast and monitor production expenses.
- Stakeholder Engagement:

- Collaborate with internal departments including editorial, marketing, and digital teams.
- Maintain good working relationships with external partners, contributors, and experts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years of experience in journalism, broadcast, or current affairs production, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior editorial role.
- Proven track record in producing high-quality, investigative journalism or current affairs content.
- Exceptional command of the English language written and spoken.
- Strong editorial judgment and keen attention to detail.
- Results-oriented, driven, and highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Deep knowledge of Singapore's socio-political landscape, and strong awareness of global current affairs.
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Flair for visual storytelling and an understanding of audience engagement across multiple platforms.
