Key Responsibilities

  • Network Design & Architecture:
    Design and implement highly scalable, secure, and reliable network solutions.
    Evaluate and integrate new technologies to optimize network performance and security.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting:
    Diagnose and resolve complex network issues across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments.
    Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.
  • Security Enforcement:
    Implement robust network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
    Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Cloud Networking:
    Configure and manage hybrid cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
    Optimize cloud connectivity for high availability and performance.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
    Utilize advanced monitoring tools to ensure optimal network performance and uptime.
    Analyze traffic patterns and implement QoS for critical applications.
  • Team Leadership:
    Mentor and guide junior network engineers.
    Lead cross-functional teams in large-scale network deployment projects.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    Maintain detailed network documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards like ISO, NIST, or PCI DSS.
  • Vendor Management:
    Collaborate with vendors to procure, implement, and maintain network hardware and software.

Required Skills & Expertise

  • Network Protocols & Technologies: Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EIGRP, and SD-WAN.
  • Hardware Expertise: Proficient in configuring and managing enterprise-grade hardware such as Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
  • Scripting & Automation: Strong skills in Python, Ansible, and Terraform for network automation.
  • Cloud Networking: Hands-on experience with AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, or GCP Interconnect.
  • Security Tools: Advanced knowledge of firewalls, WAFs, VPNs, and NAC systems.
  • Virtualization: Expertise in VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, or similar SDN platforms.
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, or Zabbix.
  • Compliance Standards: Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOX.
  • Wireless Networks: In-depth knowledge of 802.11 standards and enterprise wireless solutions.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage large-scale, multi-vendor network deployments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • CCIE/CCNP, JNCIP/JNCIE, or similar certifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
