  • Accountable for QA/QC of projects, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Safety and housekeeping of site and surrounding areas
  • Deal with Government authorities where necessary
  • Maintain Project records, documentation, and procedures
  • Scheduling flow of works
  • Assist in reporting as necessary
  • Overview of Contractors & Subcontractors on a daily basis
  • Supervise & strive to minimize project costs
  • Sign off on contractors works, consultant drawings, and Final Inspections
  • Review project work against Drawings
  • Plan and account for work produced by Contractors
  • Actively manage and reduce waste wherever possible, including rework
  • Proactively recognize and alert project lead to areas of risk before they impact the project
  • Perform all roles and responsibilities required of site supervisors under the Building Control Act
  • Supervise the timely execution of the works and maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract specifications, drawings, allocated time frame, all other contract documents, and site instructions.
  • Check all drawings and specifications to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the approved plans for discrepancies and report to the SAS, Project Manager Consultants, Architect, QP, and Project Lead - Resident Engineer.
  • Check shop drawings submitted by the contractor, as-built drawings, and Operation and Maintenance Manual submitted by the contractor; and ensure that the required construction tests in connection with the construction works are carried out where necessary.
  • Submit site daily reports of works done by the contractor including daily manpower and equipment status on-site to SAS and Consultant Team.
  • Inspect and maintain records of equipment/machinery/licensed machinery operator/permits (both statutory and aviation requirements)
  • Ensure that the structural elements, M&E elements, or critical works of the construction works are being carried out in accordance with the approved plans and with any terms and conditions imposed by the Commissioner of Building Control where necessary.
  • Ensure that proper and updated records of all works, including records of variation works, tests, inspections, work progress, materials and equipment/machinery on-site, labor safety, provisional quantities, daywork, etc, are kept.
  • Take and carry out instructions from and represent the SAS, Project Manager Consultants, Architect, QP, and Project Lead - Resident Engineer on site.

Skills/Requirements

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

  • MUST be registered with IES as current Resident Technical Officer
  • Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent certificate from a recognized institution/university or acceptable to the Commissioner of Building
  • Control OR Diploma/ ITC (Higher NITEC/ NTC-2(NITEC) in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Registered RTO (with BCA / IES / ACES) with min. 5 years of RTO experience, institutional project working experience preferred
  • Good understanding in construction drawings and specification for Structural, M&E, and Architectural works
  • Familiar with Singapore Building Control Act and Construction Regulations.
  • Good knowledge or experience in several aspects of construction activities
  • Experienced in coordinating Structural / M&E works / Architectural with the project team
  • Experienced in quality control on the structural / M&E/ architectural works
