The Buyer is responsible for supporting daily supply chain operations by coordinating purchase orders, tracking shipments, inventory optimization, and on-time delivery to meet customer and business demands. The incumbent will assist in identifying process improvements and cost-saving opportunities by analyzing supply data and collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
This position reports to the Manager, Distribution & Fulfilment, J-APAC and is part of the Asia Distribution Center (ADC) Supply Chain & Logistics in Singapore and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Issue internal requisitions and purchase orders to factory and third-party suppliers to support inventory replenishment and APAC sales activities.
- Coordinate with global planners and distribution centers to optimize inventory levels and manage product returns.
- Expedite backorders and monitor delivery timelines with suppliers and factory to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Collaborate with APAC Customer Service and Service Admin teams to fulfill order requests and meet customer request date.
- Work closely with logistics, warehouse, and finance teams to resolve shipment discrepancies, quality issues, and invoice mismatches.
- Participate in daily meetings and ensure compliance with EHS regulations and company safety policies.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Purchasing and Material Management or GCE ‘A’ levels equivalent
- Possess 3-5 years’ experience in purchasing/planning or related fields in high-tech environment
- Proficiency in executing and understanding of ERP system, Oracle and ASCP (Advance Supply Chain Planning)
- Proficient and well versed in MS office applications
- Mandarin business communication (Simplified) –To facilitate effective daily business communication, in both verbal and written forms, with our teams and suppliers based in China.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in Japanese is a plus.
- Responsible, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
