Head of Brand and Communications

THE FOOD BANK SINGAPORE LTD.

Date: 2 days ago
Area: Singapore, Singapore
Salary: SGD 5,000 - SGD 6,000 per month
Contract type: Full time

Position Overview

The Food Bank Singapore was set up in 2012 with a clear goal: to end food insecurity and reduce food waste. As a registered charity with IPC status, we currently support over 28 Feeding Partners and help more than 300,000 people across Singapore. We believe that telling our story well is just as important as the work we do — and that’s why we’re looking for someone exceptional to join our team.

We are hiring a Head of Brand and Communications — a new leadership position for someone who is creative, strategic, and passionate about making a difference. This person will play a key role in building and protecting the image of The Food Bank Singapore. They will lead our efforts in branding, communications, and content — helping to raise public awareness, grow donor support, and build trust with our community.

The Head of Brand and Communications will work closely with the Executive Director and other senior team members to make sure our messaging is clear, consistent, and impactful across all our platforms and programmes.

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, independent, and thrives in a fast-moving environment. If you believe in the power of strong communication to drive change, this role is a chance to use your skills to support a cause that matters.

At The Food Bank Singapore, we take our mission seriously and that includes how we present ourselves to the world. A clear and powerful brand is key to earning trust, encouraging support, and keeping our work going. We want someone who can lead this effort: a thoughtful and visionary communicator who can shape our voice, strengthen our reputation, and inspire others to join us on the journey toward a hunger-free Singapore.

  • Develop and oversee content strategy across digital, print, and earned media.
  • Lead campaigns that elevate our mission, encourage giving, and promote key events such as The Hunger Report and SG60 initiatives.
  • Manage media relations, including press releases, op-eds, media events, and issue-based campaigns.

Website and Social Media

  • Oversee website management, SEO optimisation, and paid digital media performance.
  • Drive social media engagement across platforms to grow audiences and build awareness.
  • Ensure our digital channels reflect our identity, tell compelling stories, and invite action.

  • Craft powerful and persuasive communications for donors, sponsors, and partners.
  • Oversee the production of key publications including the Annual Report, donor newsletters, and impact stories.
  • Build strong messaging frameworks to support fundraising, advocacy, and community engagement.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a small, high-performing communications team.
  • Work closely with departments including Fundraising, Programmes, and Operations to ensure alignment in storytelling and messaging.
  • Support internal communications and contribute to a strong organisational culture.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in communications, branding, PR, or digital marketing, preferably with leadership experience in a mission-driven organisation.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a flair for storytelling.
  • Proven track record in brand development, campaign execution, and media relations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines with confidence.
  • Experience with website CMS, social media analytics, and paid media performance.
  • A self-starter who is proactive, creative, solutions-oriented, and not afraid to roll up their sleeves.
  • Passion for social causes and a deep belief in the importance of community and purpose.
