The Business Development Manager - MICE is responsible for leading the hotel’s efforts to secure group and event business within the MICE segment. This role focuses on building long-term relationships with corporate, government, and agency clients to drive revenue through meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions. The position involves strategic account management, business development, and close collaboration with internal departments to deliver exceptional client experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and develop new MICE business opportunities for the hotel.
- Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts, agencies, and intermediaries.
- Respond to MICE-related RFPs, prepare proposals, and negotiate contracts.
- Achieve and exceed MICE segment revenue targets and KPIs.
- Represent the hotel at industry trade shows, networking events, and sales missions.
Account Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for MICE clients from initial inquiry through event execution.
- Understand clients' objectives and tailor event solutions accordingly.
- Maintain detailed records in the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce).
- Conduct regular account reviews and client meetings to strengthen relationships.
Collaboration & Execution
- Work closely with the Events, Banquets, and Operations teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Participate in daily/weekly business review meetings to forecast and strategize.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform sales strategy.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and market insights to senior management.
- Monitor performance metrics and analyze the success of MICE campaigns and promotions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on MICE.
- Strong network of MICE-related contacts, both domestic and international.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficient in sales software and hotel systems (e.g., Delphi, Opera, Salesforce).
