Summary

The proactive and experienced Employee Relations Partner will support our HR team in handling employee relations (ER) matters and providing HR Business Partnering (HRBP) support for our smaller business unit. This role will serve as the point of contact for Tier 2 ER issues, helping to foster a positive work environment while ensuring compliance with Singapore’s employment laws and internal policies. The ER Partner will also collaborate closely with managers and employees to drive people initiatives and support HR operations within the business unit.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and support to managers and employees on employee relations issues, including but not limited to performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, and workplace conflicts.
  • Manage investigations into employee complaints or issues, ensuring timely resolution in line with company policies and local labour laws.
  • Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution between employees and management, aiming to achieve amicable solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Legal, Safety, Security & Compliance team or external counsel such as MOM if necessary for complex ER cases.
  • Ensure compliance with the Employment Act and other relevant Singaporean labour regulations
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all ER cases and resolutions.
  • Manage interpersonal conflicts between employees that require higher mediation and intervention.
  • Investigate severe allegations such as harassment, discrimination, or other serious employee concerns.
  • Manage the partnership with the staff union, and handle all matters pertaining to Collective Agreement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee satisfaction, morale, and retention across all departments.
  • Spearhead all engagement initiatives and Culture Champions team
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for the assigned business unit, including job posting, sourcing, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and preparing salary proposals.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure the recruitment process meets business needs and timelines.
  • Partner with business leaders to align HR strategies with the goals and needs of the business unit.
  • Provide HR guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent development to ensure alignment with the overall company strategy.
  • Support the performance management process by helping managers set clear objectives, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Work with leaders to address performance issues and identify development opportunities for employees.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify key talent, create development plans, and ensure the implementation of succession planning strategies.
  • Work with employees and managers to drive career development and identify opportunities for internal mobility.
  • Provide regular reports on HR-related metrics such as recruitment, turnover, employee engagement, and performance management.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and recommend actions for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that HR policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to across the business unit.
  • Provide guidance on policies related to employee welfare, compensation & benefits, and HR best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace safety, security, and health policies, including adherence to employment legislation and company regulations.
  • Any other duties assigned by the reporting officer

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certifications (e.g., SHRM, IPMA, or equivalent) will be an advantage.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role with a strong focus on recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Experience in a fast-paced or multinational company is preferred. Strong knowledge of Singapore’s employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
