Business Development Manager – Southeast Asia (Trust & Wealth Solutions)

An expanding financial services firm is seeking a driven Business Development Manager to spearhead their growth across Southeast Asia. This newly created role is a strategic hire aimed at building partnerships and driving new business within the Trust, Insurance, and Family Governance space.

The successful candidate will thrive in a client-facing environment, have experience in institutional sales, and demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset. You will be responsible for developing relationships with key intermediaries including private banks, law firms, multi-family offices, and advisory partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to grow our trust, insurance, and family office solutions across Southeast Asia.
  • Meet defined revenue and client acquisition targets in line with the firm’s regional expansion goals.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with intermediaries such as external asset managers, legal and tax advisors, family offices, and immigration consultants.
  • Present and promote a comprehensive suite of solutions tailored to the needs of ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, product, and operations to support business acquisition and client onboarding.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, client briefings, and marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility.
  • Stay informed on market developments, regulatory changes, and competitor activity relevant to the region.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be degree educated with 5+ years of experience in institutional sales, business development, or relationship management, preferably within private banking, insurance, or trust services. Given the high concentration of Mandarin-speaking clients and intermediaries in the Southeast Asia region, fluency in both English and Mandarin is required to effectively build relationships and navigate client conversations. The role demands a confident communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills, a commercial mindset, and the initiative to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Experience working with HNW or UHNW clients and their advisors will be highly regarded.
