  • Driving force for an Eagle Club Girls Touch Rugby development program, forming skills groups and competitive teams for travel tournaments
  • Coordinate and perform administrative duties as assigned by the Designated EAA Coordinator for Touch Rugby in addition to coaching duties
  • Liaise with on-island teams to coordinate games/events
  • Daily and weekly management and communication of program schedules to families which includes training, scrimmage games, and private lessons
  • Enhancing the program by structuring training drills for members as appropriate, sourcing new coaching techniques and teaching methods
  • Monitoring and reporting individual player progress with an administrative overview
  • Ensuring facilities, equipment, and training methods are in line with SAS standards and protocols
  • Move equipment as required
  • Managing and announcing team rosters for specific tournaments throughout the year
  • Preparing the team for tournament games with drills, exercises, and team talks
  • Coach age group(s) and team(s) assigned by the Designated EAA Coordinator for Touch Rugby at tournaments
  • Identifying volunteer assistant coaches and team ambassadors who will help coordinate teams as needed
  • Carrying out any administrative matters as needed for the programs assigned by the Designated EAA Coordinator for Touch Rugby
  • Organizing and conducting coaches clinics for volunteer parents
  • Assisting or leading team practices
  • Regularly assist in the SAS APEX gym with duties as assigned by the APEX Gym Supervisor, until the Girls Touch Rugby program reaches full-time capacity.

The above job description is only indicative of the broad set of duties and responsibilities. Distribution of tasks is assigned by the supervisor. Other tasks may be assigned on the job, as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Work Schedule

The work schedule shall be set by the Designated EAA Coordinator for Touch Rugby in conjunction with the SAS School Eagle Activities and Athletics office and will be structured to ensure smooth overall program operations.


Skills/Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or similar), from an accredited college or university, or equivalent professional experience
  • High School Varsity level playing experience in Touch Rugby, or equivalent
  • FIT Touch Coaching Certification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 years of Touch Rugby coaching experience with at least 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience or 5 years of high-level head coaching experience
  • American Red Cross First Aid & CPR or equivalent
  • Able to read, write, and perform basic math and should have strong organizational, budgetary, and computer (especially Google Suite, SchoolsBuddy, and Finalsite) skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Required SAS Health, Safety, and Safeguarding Protocols:

  • Ensure that program areas, equipment, and supplies are maintained in an orderly and safe manner.
  • Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members, or guests to your supervisor or the person responsible for those items at your site
  • Follow all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to managing visitors and guests at our facilities
  • Complete all child safeguarding training as required
