The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exist to join Cochlear Singapore as a Assistant Accountant on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, the successful Accountant will have the opportunity to drive the operational activities of the Asia Growth Markets (AGM) Finance Team and the provision of accurate and timely financial reporting. The role is also responsible for both day-to-day accounting operations, as well as an opportunity to gain exposure to APAC financial reporting, analytics and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Operations : Manage and support accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger completion including month end reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support forecast of cash flow management on monthly basis.
- Financial and Statutory Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, annual tax and quarter GST reporting.
- Coordinate with external tax agent, payroll, accounting service providers and Corporate secretary.
- Monthly and ad hoc reporting: Update financial reports to support budgeting, forecasting of expenses for effective control and monitoring of expenses.
- Consolidate and analyze monthly P&L financial performance against forecasts and provide insights of the business.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations and internal policies.
You Bring Your Skills and Experience
As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Proven experience in accounting, or a similar role, with at least 2 - 4 years of work experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft excel, data analysis, and accounting software (ERP: Oracle or SAP, Hyperion)
- Positive attitude to learn, analytical, strong in problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with consolidation and prior exposure to South East Asia regional business environment (preferred)
