Report to Head of Compliance and assist the team in:

  • Keeping abreast of developments on AML/CFT sanctions and proliferation financing matters including local regulatory requirements and monitor the bank's compliance with these requirements
  • Assist in implementing AML/CFT sanctions and proliferation financing control measures in accordance to the bank's AML/CFT sanctions and proliferation financing framework including but not limited to enterprise wide risk assessment, etc
  • Assist in reviewing, formulating and implementing of AML/CFT sanctions and proliferation financing policies and procedures taking into account prevailing regulatory rules & related guidelines and literature
  • Provide guidance and advisory on AML/CFT sanctions and proliferation financing matters
  • Perform compliance testing on AML/CFT sanctions and proliferation financing controls and measures
  • Assist in remediation and/or follow up on the remediation of any AML/CFT sanctions and proliferation financing related control deficiencies identified by the regulatory authorities as well as internal and external auditors
  • Perform review of client due diligence performed, where required
  • Review AML/CFT account and transaction monitoring reports & its thresholds
  • Investigate suspicious transactions escalated to Compliance deparment and prepare suspicious transaction reporting to STRO (CAD) and MAS, and acts as administrator to the STROLLS system where applicable
  • Assist in the preparation of AML/CFT sanctions and proliferation financing related survey and/or reporting to regulatory authorities, Head Office and local management
  • Assist in the preparation and conduct of AML/CFT sanctions and proliferation financing training (new-joiner, refresher and ad-hoc trainings)
  • Assist to manage name screening, post-transaction monitoring & EWRA system initiatives and coordinate communications between the Branch and Head Office
  • Escalating any regulatory breaches or non-compliance matters to the HOD/DGM in-charge
  • Undertake additional compliance functions and duties assigned by the HOD
  • Assist to lead and manage a sub-team of 2-3 in AML/CFT to manage the above
  • Assist the Head of Department in any administrative matters as requested

REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a Degree with minimum 5 years of banking experience in AML/CFT within a corporate banking environment;
  • Knowledge of MAS requirements and industry practices on AML/CFT and/or compliance matters;
  • Self-motivated,meticulous and able to multi-task /work independently;
  • Effectively bilingual in English and Chineses as the incumbent is required to communicate and correspond with Chinese colleagues and help in preparing documentation in Chinese.
