Assistant cook

An Assistant Cook supports the Head Cook or Chef in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in a kitchen. They ensure that kitchen operations run smoothly by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and following food safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing ingredients (chopping, peeling, cutting, marinating, etc.).
• Cook simple dishes under the supervision of the Head Cook or Chef.
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Store food items properly and monitor inventory levels.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
• Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and deliveries.
• Help with plating and garnishing dishes before serving.
• Report any kitchen equipment issues or maintenance needs.
