Our client is a leading provider of innovative and efficient logistics solutions, specializing in freight forwarding and supply chain management. They are committed to delivering exceptional service and tailored solutions to their clients. They are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive new business growth in freight.

You will be responsible for prospecting, acquiring, and onboarding new clients. This role requires a tenacious, self-motivated professional with deep market knowledge, strong sales acumen, and the ability to develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy focusing on freight services.
  • Review and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from potential clients, ensuring competitive and compelling bids.
  • Stay updated on market trends, regulations, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.

Sales & Client Acquisition

  • Prospect and acquire new clients through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (supply chain managers, logistics directors, procurement heads).
  • Conduct regular client meetings to understand their needs and propose customized logistics solutions.
  • Close deals and achieve/exceed quarterly sales targets.
  • Develop pricing strategies and proposals that align with client needs and company profitability goals.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, client needs, and competitive threats.
  • Analyze data to provide actionable insights for business growth and strategy refinement.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline progress, and market trends.

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with operations, finance, and legal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams to improve service offerings and operational efficiency


What It Takes

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales within 3PL or freight services.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations (freight, warehousing, transportation, distribution).
  • Experience in responding to RFPs and structuring competitive bids.
