Export & Shipping Operations Executive (Manufacturing Sector)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and evaluate logistics providers to ensure cost-effective and high-performing service through regular rate reviews and vendor assessments
• Maintain legal compliance by managing Logistic Service Agreements with vendors in collaboration with the legal team
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost efficiency and service accuracy in transport operations
• Supervise a team handling the full spectrum of export shipping, ensuring timely order processing, regulatory compliance, and accurate shipment documentation
• Manage shipment bookings with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and hauliers; negotiate spot rates when needed
• Ensure proper documentation (e.g. Shipment Cost and Haulier Manifest in SAP) is prepared and updated
• Oversee Free Trade Agreement (FTA) application processes with Customs, coordinating updates with internal regulatory departments
• Investigate logistics service complaints and assist in claim management
• Coach, develop, and review team performance; provide training support and manage recruitment as needed
• Act as Deputy to the Customer Service Manager when required, supporting team escalations and site liaison

Key Requirements:

• Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or relevant fields
• Minimum 5 years’ export shipping experience within manufacturing (preferably chemical manufacturing)
• Solid background in team leadership (setting KPIs, conducting appraisals, managing hiring)
• Strong working knowledge of:
  Transportation of Dangerous Goods (ground/air)
  Customs & Excise regulations
  International Trade compliance
  Letters of Credit & international payment terms
• Proficient in SAP and data analysis/reporting
• Prior experience in a regional logistics role within an MNC preferred
