About the role

As we continue to grow, Grasshopper seeks a Senior Data Engineer to architect our current data platform in order to tackle new business problems. Our data team plays a crucial role in driving the data-driven decision-making culture in Grasshopper. We leverage GCP to build robust data pipelines, ensure data quality of our products, and provide analytical support to stakeholders across Grasshopper.

Our tech stack: BigQuery, GCS, Apache Beam, Prefect, GKE, dbt, Looker

As a key member of the Data Team, you’ll:

Design and maintain our tick data dataset for multiple exchanges from end to end New data products and services:
Lakehouse architecture Data discovery Expand our data universe to multiple assets on multiple exchanges globally
Implement data contracts for multiple downstream clients Data quality reliability engineering Mentor and level-up junior members

We’d love for you to have

At least 4-5 years of extensive experience in Data Engineering, with a strong background in SQL and programming languages such as Python, Java or Scala Proficiency in cloud platforms and modern data warehousing solutions Extensive experience with big data processing frameworks and data pipeline orchestration tools Hands-on experience with event brokers A passion for problem-solving and a desire to continuously learn and grow in the field of data engineering Good thinking and leadership skills Experience with tick data & financial data vendors
