Overview Of The Role

The Country Manager is responsible for leading a team of projects and managed services professionals who are dedicated to delivering a project or service to Onnec’s customers. The role includes improving efficiency, productivity and quality whilst delivering in line with budget requirements in a safe and fully compliant working environment.

The role will work very closely with the Operations, Sales and Finance Teams and will report direct to the Head of APAC & Global Head of Operations to ensure the operational focus and delivery of strategies, process and procedures are fully aligned across Onnec. There will also be a requirement to work with the Operations Directors of Strategic Technology and Key and Transaction teams as well as the Operations Director of Services on occasion to ensure resource is being utilised effectively and shared between the business units when applicable and also to align processes and policy as part of the same Onnec operational team.

What you’ll be doing as our Country Manager:

  • Develop and implement the overall operational strategy in alignment with the Onnec goals and objectives.
  • Understand the unique operational needs and challenges of each account and develop customised operational strategies.
  • Build and manage relationships with key clients, vendors, prospects, distributors and stakeholders
  • Identify potential clients and forward leads to Global Head of Sales
  • Meet and exceed financial / margin expectation deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
  • Recruit and manage talents through identifying, attracting, mentoring and retaining candidates/employees in close collaboration with HR Team
  • Analyse existing processes and workflows to identify areas for optimisation.
  • Manage and allocate resources efficiently, including budgeting and resource planning.
  • Oversee inventory and supply chain management, ensuring timely availability of materials and resources.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing operational team.
  • Set clear KPI’s and performance expectations for the team.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to help team members achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. operations - strategic accounts, sales and country heads) to align strategies and resources.
  • Develop and maintain quality management systems working with the Head of Compliance and Global Head of Operations.
  • Ensure Onnec’s compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Implement and maintain safety protocols to create a safe working environment.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to optimize costs and improve service quality.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favourable terms.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the performance of accounts.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they meet their individual and team targets.
  • Ensure accurate reporting.
  • Communicate client feedback and insights to relevant teams for continuous improvement.
  • Establish key metrics to measure the progress and impact of operations.
  • Manage projects and provide support as needed in close collaboration with Operations Directors

What we are looking for in our Country Manager:

  • Proven experience in global operational leadership and delivery cabling/ICT infrastructure/technology service projects and managed services.
  • Key relationships with Onnec’s customers.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical solutions.
  • Excellent leadership and people management abilities, with the capacity to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of organisational dynamics.
  • Commercial ability to optimise revenue through project and service delivery models.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Understanding and experience of the industry.
  • Understanding of contract law and common contract types such as FIDIC/Others.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt global strategies to local market conditions and cultural nuances.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
