Application Support Analyst – European Bank

Position: Application Support Analyst – Capital Markets IT

The role is part of the “Run the Bank” team, ensuring stable operations and high availability of sales-related applications in a global, fast-paced trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and support front-to-back capital markets applications, focusing on daily/overnight batch chains, data quality, and user requests.
• Respond to incidents and requests from traders, risk managers, operations, and other IT teams (Level 1 & 2 support).
• Improve system reliability through problem management, automation, and continuous process enhancement.
• Maintain a detailed knowledge base and collaborate with build teams on long-term solutions and monitoring improvements.
• Produce regular reporting on system performance and data integrity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in application support , ideally within capital markets.
• Strong knowledge of trade lifecycle , financial instruments (FX, Bonds, IRD, etc.), and front-to-back systems.
• Proficient in SQL, Unix/Linux scripting , and tools like Control-M, XML, PL/SQL, MQ, CFT .
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., ITRS Geneos, Elastic Search).
• ITIL certified and skilled in SLA/KPI tracking, incident handling, and escalation management.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Work Conditions

• Regular hours: 8:45am – 6:30pm SGT
• Occasional weekend/on-call support required
• International team collaboration (Paris, London, NY, HK, India, Montreal)

Education

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• Strong interest in capital markets and IT operations
