JOB SUMMARY
This Team Lead position at Profectant is a key role within our accounting team, responsible for managing their own portfolio of clients while also supporting Account Executives (AEs) and Senior Account Executives (Senior AEs) in client service and account management. This role involves reviewing full sets of accounts, providing guidance on technical and client-related questions, and ensuring that client interactions and deliverables meet Profectant’s quality standards. Work may require occasional travel to Johor Bahru.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Management
- Manage and maintain relationships with an assigned portfolio of clients, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient accounting and reporting.
- Communicate with clients to address their needs, resolve issues, and provide insights based on financial data.
Team Leadership and Guidance
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to AEs and Senior AEs on technical and client communication matters.
- Mentor team members, assisting them in developing skills needed for managing client accounts and improving service delivery. Account Review and Quality Assurance
- Review full sets of accounts prepared by AEs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to accounting standards.
- Address any questions or challenges raised by AEs or Senior AEs, guiding them through complex issues and best practices.
- Perform quality checks to ensure client deliverables meet Profectant’s standards and client expectations.
Communication Support
- Guide team members in effective communication with clients, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and timely responses.
- Facilitate clear communication between team members and the Lead, providing updates on client status and team progress.
Process Improvement
- Work closely with the Lead to contribute to streamlining processes and improvements within the accounting team, identifying and implementing best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
- Work closely with the Lead in planning the resources of the Firm and job allocation to ensure effective workload distribution.
- Collaborate with the Lead to provide feedback on team performance and development needs.
- Monitor the deadlines of engagements to ensure timely delivery of services and compliance with client expectations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA Australia, ACCA, ICAEW) is a plus. - 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with prior experience managing clients and overseeing teams.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and tax regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, with a focus on quality and client service
