We are seeking an experienced Merchant Acquisition Specialist to oversee the onboarding of merchant deals onto the UPlay platform. This role involves strategizing to find cost-effective deals, regular onboarding of new merchants deals and managing relationships with merchants.


The ideal candidate should have a strong background in merchant partnership and acquisition, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to foster partnerships.


Merchant/Partner Acquisition:

  • Pro-actively Identify and onboard merchants that resonates with UPlay’s target audience
  • Discover profitable merchants and initiate partnerships
  • Ensure onboard merchants meet company standards and requirements
  • Negotiate with merchants to secure advantageous terms and conditions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchant partners
  • Understand specific merchant needs and tailor compelling propositions to onboard them
  • Manage the onboarding process, ensuring smooth integration and a positive experience for new merchants
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with existing merchants to ensure their continued success
  • Analyse market trends and competitor offerings to identify new opportunities for merchant acquisition

Content Management:

  • Ensure accurate and engaging merchant content is uploaded to the platform
  • Maintain a diverse and up-to-date selection of experiences on the website

Market Analysis:

  • Conduct regular market analysis to ensure UPlay's pricing offers remain competitive within the industry
  • Work closely with internal teams to adjust pricing strategies as needed to maintain a competitive edge
  • Analyze platform performance and propose sourcing strategy
  • Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients through data analysis
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Prepare insightful reports on partner performance and acquisition efforts

Merchant/Partner Aggregation:

  • Identify major merchants in the market and explore opportunities for long term partnerships
  • Research and evaluate on the possibility of system integration to efficiently bulk list their deals

Invoice and Payment Management:

  • Coordinate with merchants and the finance team to ensure timely invoicing and payment processing
  • Follow up on outstanding invoices and resolve payment discrepancies

Others:

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure clarity of specifications and expectations
  • Undertake any relevant tasks as may be directed by the supervisor from time to time

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business/ Business Administration
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in partners and merchant onboarding, procurement, business development, or a related field
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and comfortable with online platforms
  • Understanding of e-commerce system concepts and processes is preferred
