Important Note: Our accounting system is a proprietary, internally developed platform based on Oracle, fully customized for our operational needs. It does not resemble conventional systems like Xero, QuickBooks, or SAP. The interface is entirely in Chinese, and prior system experience does not provide a transferable advantage. Therefore, proficiency in Chinese and a high level of adaptability to unfamiliar systems are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing and financial reporting
  • Manage daily accounting operations and maintain the full set of accounts in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal teams to support intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Manage payment processing, including preparing and scheduling vendor and intercompany payments through our designated bank platforms
  • Prepare annual financial statements and ensure timely filing of GST & WHT (quarterly) and corporate tax returns, along with other statutory compliance tasks
  • Collaborate with external parties, including auditors, tax agents, corporate secretaries, and local authorities as required
  • Assist in the annual statutory audit and related audit deliverables
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Support forecasting and budgeting exercise as requested for management accounting purposes
  • Perform other ad-hoc finance duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA/ACCA qualification is a plus
  • At least 1 year of relevant accounting experience, including management of full sets of accounts
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, GST filing, and reconciliations
  • A strong command of both English and Chinese (written and oral) would be preferred, as the role involves liaising with Chinese-speaking stakeholders and working with an accounting system that is in Chinese.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Strong Excel skills, especially in using formulas and pivot tables.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and a willingness to learn proprietary systems that differ from standard commercial accounting software.
