About JL Cable Detection

We are a growing company in the Underground Cable and Utilities Detection industry, specializing in trial trenching and cable detection work. While we may not be a startup, we operate with the same dynamic energy, flexibility, and growth mindset —always looking for ways to improve and innovate.

As we expand our trial trenching teams (currently four teams and growing), we are looking for a WSH Coordinator who is passionate about safety, learning, and making a real impact. This is an opportunity to grow alongside the company and take ownership of safety processes while shaping the safety culture from the ground up.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Conduct daily site visits to perform inspections and identify unsafe conditions or work practices (Company motorbike provided).
  • Work closely with project teams to develop and maintain safety documentation, including Method Statements, Risk Assessments (MSRA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Fall Protection Plans (FPP), lifting plans, and all other documents related to safety.
  • Prepare and present weekly safety presentations, highlighting key safety issues observed across various sites.
  • Ensure full compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and company safety policies.
  • Investigate and document all accidents, incidents, and near-misses, recommending appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
  • Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to improve safety awareness among workers and subcontractors.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the company’s safety culture and procedures.
  • Attend all project safety meetings for various projects

What We’re Looking For:

  • Advanced Certificate in WSH (Level B) or relevant Safety Certifications .
  • 2+ years of experience in construction safety roles.
  • Strong knowledge of WSH regulations, risk assessments, and safety best practices .
  • Passionate about learning, growth, and improving safety culture .
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and problem-solving mindset .
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment .
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work under stress
