Job Summary:

The Bar Supervisor will oversee daily bar operations at Mama Diam and Lou Shang, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality cocktails and mocktails and exceptional guest service. This role involves leading and training the bar team, maintaining inventory and stock levels, upholding cleanliness and safety standards, and assisting in drink innovation. The Bar Supervisor plays a key role in cultivating a warm, engaging atmosphere while driving operational excellence and team performance behind the bar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bar Operations & Management
    • Oversee daily bar operations to ensure smooth service
    • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, safety standards, and organization of the bar area daily and weekly based on the cleaning checklist provided by the Assistant Manager.
    • Curate specialized cocktails and drinks menu for special events
    • Manage bar-related administrative tasks, including staff scheduling for both Mama Diam and Lou Shang
  • Staff Supervision & Training
    • Lead, supervise, and support bartenders throughout their shifts for both Mama Diam and Lou Shang.
    • Train and mentor all bar staff on drink preparation, customer service, and operational procedures.
    • Guide junior bartenders, fostering a welcoming work environment, and ensure smooth, efficient shifts
  • Customer Service & Experience
    • Ensure guests receive high-quality service and beverages
    • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally
    • Create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for customers
    • Engage with customers, anticipate their needs, and create memorable experiences through genuine and consistent hospitality
    • Skillfully promote bar offerings, including premium spirits, unique cocktails, and promotions, to maximize sales and enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Inventory & Stock Control
    • Monitor and manage bar inventory to maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock levels for both Mama Diam and Lou Shang
    • Conduct timely stock-taking and reordering to prevent shortages
    • Check monthly transfer list between Mama Diam and Lou Shang/FML
  • Team Collaboration & Communication
    • Coordinate with kitchen, floor staff, and management to ensure seamless service
    • Report any operational issues to management.
    • Assist the floor staff whenever needed
  • Mixology Expertise
    • Prepare and serve a wide variety of cocktails, mocktails, and specialty drinks with precision and creativity, ensuring consistency and high-quality standards in every beverage you make.
  • Cash Handling
    • Accurately process transactions, handle cash, and maintain a balanced cash drawer during your shift.
  • Knowledge and Compliance
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, cocktail techniques, and responsible alcohol service guidelines, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bartender or a Bar Supervisor, with strong knowledge of cocktail preparation, mixology techniques, and bar operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, with prior experience in supervising shifts and training junior staff.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail, especially in maintaining hygiene, stock control, and administrative duties.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude, ready to collaborate and support across departments when needed.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and compliance with responsible alcohol service regulations.
